Dragon & Monkey

First started in 2013 under the name Little Goodey.
It was my passion for sewing and trying to find unique and comfortable items for my young toddler that first got me into creating clothing. 
I expanded into adult clothing a year later. I have enjoyed creating fun, colourful and most importantly comfortable clothing ever since, for all ages. 
After an extended maternity break with my second child I re-branded as Dragon & Monkey to fit in with our fun new style and ranges.
Now I use mainly organic and exclusive to Dragon & Monkey prints, all these are clearly marked.  All fabric is OEKO-TEK certified so you have peace of mind on the quality of fabric used.  Plain fabrics are currently not organic but I am working towards changing that so all my fabrics are organic.

I create and send all clothing myself from my home office. Items are all handmade, from cutting the fabric pieces to final stitches, and packaging up for postal runs – also me 😉 .

Protecting the environment

Slow fashion (with minimal plastic use), is very important to me. We have one planet and I am eager to do everything I can to minimise the impact my business has. This is why I use mainly organic fibres, recyclable paper mailing bags and if I use packing tape this also fully recyclable, double win .  Investing in well made clothing is a great way to ensure we stop fast, throw away fashion that just isn’t designed to last. My items are made with high quality fabrics and can be passed down to siblings, cousins and friends. All my sons clothing,  has been worn my by second born so have lasted 4 years or more.

At Dragon & Monkey comfort is key.
My eldest and I have autism and as a result finding soft, label free clothing became more of a problem. All clothing comes with soft cotton labels – the same fabric as the clothing itself, so very comfortable.
However if they still need to be cut out, all children’s clothing up to age 12 years have a size stamped. The stamped label also says ‘I’m the back’ to help give your child confidence in self dressing. A lot of clothing in our range is made to have minimal seams. I use soft fabrics, with fitted and loose options in lots of styles to suit different preferences.  You can request, of course, to have the stamp on adult clothing. Do just ask before ordering.
